Obituary

Bill Stubbs, age 75, a resident of Wheaton since 1979, died suddenly, Friday, October 6 in Dallas, Texas while on a business trip. He was born on February 3, 1931 in Wichita, Kansas to Albert and Flossie Stubbs.

Bill graduated from Friends University School of Music in Wichita, Kansas. On January 13, 1951 he married Beverly Citron. He directed various church choirs from 1952 until 1963 while working in sales. In 1964 he accepted a promotion with Diversey Chemical Company and moved his family to Chicago. Eventually he became the National Accounts Manager for Diversey and in 1970 he joined EcoLabs as Chicago District Manager and subsequently became a V.P. of National Accounts. He was currently working for Sunburst Chemicals as V.P. of National Accounts. Over the years he traveled extensively, covering the U.S., including Hawaii and Puerto Rico. He was also a graduate of Toast Masters International.

He was a member of College Church in Wheaton, where he was active in the Men's Bible Study. He and his wife Beverly also served as Sunday morning greeters. His love of flying included membership with his grandson in the Prop Masters Club, radio controlled model airplanes.

He is survived by his wife Beverly, one daughter, Linda (Brant) Dolan of Naperville, two grandchildren, Stacy (Jon) Peterson of Chicago and Eric Dolan of Naperville, one brother, Roger (Carolyn) Stubbs of Seattle, WA, three sisters, Donna (Bud) Healey of Seattle, WA, Marilyn (Bill) Williams of Wichita, KS and Carolyn Walz of Portland, OR.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Alvin.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 11, from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Todd Augustine officiating. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to College Church in Wheaton.
