William (Bill) R. Perry, age 85, a resident of Orland Park, IL, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 14, 2020, peacefully at home. He was born September 28,1934 in Chicago to William and Evelyn Perry.
Bill grew up in Chicago where he graduated from Oak Lawn High School. He served in the Army stationed in Germany from 1956-1959 serving as a specialist 4th Class. When he returned from the service he worked in a body shop. He met his wife Judith A Brunner while she was a nursing student and they married on April 20,1963. He went on to continue working in the automobile insurance industry with his last job with Colonial Penn where he retired in 1994. In retirement he enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling and his many friendships in Northern Wisconsin. He especially enjoyed having the grandchildren come visit up North and teaching them how to fish and snowmobile.
Bill's christian faith was central to his life, he sought out God's word as a teenager being baptised at the age of 13 and being confirmed as an adult. He served the Lord for many years at Palos Lutheran Church, and was a faithful member at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church when the Lord called him home.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Judith, three children, Cynthia (Burt) Martin, Christine (Keith) Stellick and Craig (Erica) Perry, ten grandchildren, Meghan Martin, Jacob Stellick, Gregory Martin, Luke Stellick, Theresa Perry, Faith Stellick, Paul Perry, Ron Schmidt and Alexis Schmidt, beloved sister Nancy Wildfield and brother Charles (Dorthy) Perry and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Paul.
