Beverly S.
Jones
April 3, 1929 – May 23, 2021
Beverly S. Jones, a longtime resident of Winfield, and more recently of Brighton Gardens in Wheaton, died on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at the age of 92. She passed away peacefully at Seasons Hospice Inpatient Center in Naperville, in the presence of her daughters and two granddaughters.
Beverly was born to Edward and Virginia Schwegel on April 3, 1929 in Chicago, where she grew up. After graduating from Amundsen High School in 1947, she attended the University of Illinois and joined the Alpha Phi sorority. While working at Retail Credit Company, Beverly met Bob Jones, whom she married in 1962. Six years later they moved their family from Lombard to Winfield, where they resided until 2013. In the 1980's she worked as the secretary at Wheaton's Gary Memorial United Methodist Church.
Bev was an active, enthusiastic person - even in recent years, when she was president of the Brighton Gardens residents council. In her slightly younger days, she was an avid world traveler and appreciated classical music and opera. Above all, Beverly loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Nancy (Mike) Regan of Glen Ellyn, IL, Ellen Voegeli Prignano of Warrenville, IL, and William (Martha) Voegeli of Claremont, CA; six grandchildren, Susan (Brandon) Amos, Kathryn (Luke) Coyle, Nicholas Brazeal, Michael Brazeal, Shaeleigh Regan, and Bailey Keates; and one great-granddaughter, Emelia Jean Amos.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Peter Prignano; and her husband of 53 years, Robert.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Gary United Methodist Church. Interment will be private. For those unable to attend the service in person, a livestream may be viewed by clicking here: Beverly S. Jones service
