Obituary

Betty Jean Henderson, age 78, a resident of Naperville and Orlando, Florida, died at home in Naperville on Thursday, April 12. She was born on December 22, 1928 in Webster Springs, WV to Lewis and Elsie Davis.

She attended WV University, where she met her husband of 58 years, Alden "Bill" "Pops" Henderson. Together they worked as educators in Roseville, MI for 25 years and moved to IL to be close to family in 1987. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and has actively been involved with "Pops" in caring for their grandchildren. They helped to found the Ginger Creek Community Church in Aurora, IL, where their son, John, was the founding pastor.

Betty is survived by her husband, two children, John (Karen) Henderson of Wheaton, and Jane (Steve) Wiersema of Warrenville, seven grandchildren, Zac, Gabrielle, Tara, Brooke and Rikki Henderson and Kellie and Michelle Wiersema, one brother, Edward Davis of Ashland, KY and one sister-in-law, Ruth Davis of Tucson, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Helen Gorman, and two brothers, Nelson Davis and James Davis.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 17, from 5 until 7 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 7:00. Further services and interment will be held in Jakes Run, WV.
