Betty J. Castelli, age 80, a longtime resident of Wheaton, IL, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 13, 2018, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois. She was born May 21, 1938 in Carthage, Illinois.
Betty grew up on a family farm in Carthage, with many brothers sisters. In 1960 she married the love of her life Peter Castelli and they moved to Wheaton in 1962, where they raised three children. She worked for Brach Candy Company in Carol Stream. They were members of the VFW and were members of the Wheaton Assembly of God Church. After Peter's passing in 1999 Betty has spent winters in San Antonio, Texas were she met Harry Haught.
She loved her flowers, and enjoyed working in her garden from dawn to dusk. She was an avid dancer, often at the Cadillac Ranch. Betty was beloved by her many friends.
She is survived by her companion, Harry Haught of San Antonio, TX, her children, Debi Allen of Port Aransas, TX, Gina Swanson of Converse, TX, and Pete Castelli of Franklin Park, IL, 5 grandchildren, Christina, Ashley, Mandi, Steven and Dakota, and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Pete and her parents.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2018 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, where a funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m.
