Betty J. Becker, age 87, a longtime resident of West Chicago, died Sunday, July 27 at home. She was born on November 13, 1926 in Maywood, Illinois to John and Myrtle Hoellerich.

Betty grew up in Maywood and graduated from Proviso High School. She attended Columbia Bible College in Columbia, South Carolina. She met William Becker at church and they were married on August 30, 1947 at West Suburban Bible Church, where they were members for many years. After moving to West Chicago in 1956, they joined West Chicago Bible Church, where she was active in youth ministries. She retired from Illinois Bell in 1983.

She is survived by four sons, Jim (Marcy) Becker of Winfield, Rick (Marsha) Becker of Wheaton, David (Marylou) Becker of West Chicago and Larry (Julie) Becker of West Chicago, 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Jack (Betty Ruth) Hoellerich and Don (Barb) Hoellerich and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William in 2003, her sister, Jean Henning and her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 31, at 11:00 at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. Friends may visit with the family from 10 until the time of service at 11:00.

Interment will be held at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.
