Elizabeth "Betty" C. Banks, age 83, a resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream, IL, died Tuesday, January 28 at home. She was born February 20, 1930 in Chicago, IL.
Betty was active at the Prospect Heights Baptist Church, the Arlington Heights Evangelical Free Church and more recently at Wheaton Bible Church. She was known for her love for God and family, her hospitality, her famous gingersnap cookies, and her support and care of missionaries.
She is survived by her husband, Robert A. Banks; her four children, Ellen (James) Elwell, David (Alice) Banks, Gail (Richard) Pflederer, and Barbara (Jordon) Korell; her ten grandchildren, Chad Elwell, Nathan (Brit) Elwell, Jordan Elwell, Nicholas (JaiMee) Banks, Anna Banks, Brent Pflederer, Sarah Pflederer, Brittany (Erik) Heard, Aleena Korell, and Janine Korell; and three great-grandchildren, Jensen Elwell, Bella Elwell, and Riley Banks.
She was preceded in death by her parents and ten siblings.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 8, from 1-2 p.m. at Wheaton Bible Church, 27W500 North Ave, West Chicago, where a funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Scott Phelps officiating. The visitation will continue after the service from 3-4 p.m.
