Betsy Hosteland, age 75, a resident of Round Lake Beach, IL passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021. She was born April 16, 1946 to Frank & Barney Cook.

Betsy was born in La Paz, Bolivia, and at the age of two moved with her sister, Margo, and missionary parents to Quito, Ecuador. After completing her education at the Alliance Academy in Quito in 1964, she attended Greenville College in Illinois and then moved to Oak Park, IL to live with Margo.

She married Mark Hosteland on January 18th, 1969. Betsy's work career began as an office consultant for doctors' and dentists' offices setting up their accounting systems.

She loved serving others and after their son, John, was born; she became active in Stephen's ministry, and was a care giver at the Anchorage nursing home. She also had a career venture which involved running her own catering business. In her spare time she worked for Scripture Press collating Sunday School materials. All of these ventures were performed while battling MS.

Betsy loved family and was a loving wife and mother. Once she became home bound, she enjoyed visiting with family, friends and reading.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Mark Hosteland; her son John (Christine) Hosteland; her three grandchildren: Andrew, Emily & Ashley; her sister Margo Cook and brother Jack (Jane) Cook. Also survived by her sister-in-law Carolyn Wahrman; her niece Zoey (Michael) Ferrari and nephews Henry (Charis) Cook and Christopher Wahrman.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187.
