Beth Lorene Johnson

Dr. Beth L. Johnson, age 75, of Glen Ellyn, passed away peacefully asleep on June 19, 2026 with her kids at her side. She was the wonderful mother to Abigail Beth (Cory) and Maxwell Douglas (Sarah), loving grandmother to Charlotte, Olivia, Layla, Brady, Jackson, and Lucy, exceptional wife to Douglas, beloved sister of Dick (Betty), Bill (Lois), and Tom (Deb), and treasured sister-in-law of Gary and Joyce Johnson. She was preceded in death by Douglas, her parents, Norma and Wayne Wettlaufer, and parents-in-law, Doris and Leonard Johnson. Beth graduated from Augustana College in 1972 and earned her M.D. from University of Minnesota in 1976. She loved her career as a Pathologist at Central DuPage Hospital for nearly 30 years, including serving as President of the Medical Staff for two years. Always active, she loved to travel and exercise, completing 27 marathons, hundreds of miles of triathlon activities, and countless hours of other workouts with her friends. Funeral Services Monday, June 29th at 10:00 a.m. at College Church Sanctuary, 332 Seminary Avenue, Wheaton, Illinois 60187; Visitation at Hultgren Funeral Home in Carol Stream, 565 Randy Road, Carol Stream, Illinois 60188, on Sunday, June 28th from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, family has requested donations to Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital to be used in her honor. (Link to come)
