Bertha Marie Roig, 87, of Crystal Lake, died Sunday, January 24 at Claremont Nursing Center where she had been living since July, 2015. Prior to that, she had been living in Crystal Lake with her child, Noelle Roig, and grandchild Ryan Roig. She was born August 14, 1928 in Lille, France.

She was a loving mother caring for seven children whose births spanned 32 years. She raised her family and maintained households from New York to Illinois to Michigan to Australia.
She is survived by seven children, Patricia (Jaime) Ortiz of Palatine, Dr. Daniel (Thadine) Roig of Cary, Charles (Linda) Roig of Roselle, Dr. Jacqueline Roig of Chicago, Robert (Joanne) Roig of Barrington, and Nicole and Noelle Roig; 11 grandchildren, Daniel, Michael, Jennifer, Genevieve, Christina, Evan, Sydney, Margaret, Julian, Isabelle and Ryan; and seven great grandchildren, Rebecca, Anastasia, Ethan, Haley, Amaryn, Vincent and Harper.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel J. Roig, Sr., by four brothers, Harry, Robert, Raul and Edwin, and by her sister, Irma.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 27, from 4 - 8 P.M. at the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Wheaton. Funeral mass will be Thursday, January 28, 10 A.M. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 0S 233 Church Street, Winfield. Interment will be at Wheaton Cemetery.
