Duvel
March 4, 1974 – September 30, 2021
Belinda Sue Duvel, age 47, a lifelong resident of Winfield, IL, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Mayo Clinic (St. Marys Hospital) in Rochester, MN. She was born March 4, 1974 in Mosvold Mission Hospital in Ingwavuma, Zululand, South Africa to Dr. Al and Mary Duvel.
Belinda attended Wheaton Christian Grammar School and Wheaton Academy. She obtained a BA degree in English Literature and History from Messiah College in 1996. She worked for 20 years as an editor in publishing, which suited her perfectionistic ways. She worked for Loyola Press, ACHC and Vizient.
She enjoyed reading and writing. She loved to give and enjoyed being with family and friends. She took great joy in watching her niece and nephew grow up and was always an encouraging, motivating cheer leader. Her cat, Madison, was a constant companion. Her dry sense of humor endeared her to everyone. Belinda had a sweet spirit of gentleness, kindness and courage. Her perseverance through all of life's challenges was a beautiful example to everyone who met her. Belinda was thankful for her family and her small group of friends who stood by her giving her support and encouragement.
Her faith in Jesus Christ was a sustaining and enduring part of her daily life.
She is survived by her parents, Dr. Al and Mary Duvel, her loving sister, Shirleen (Andy) Thomson, her favorite nephew, Caleb and favorite niece, Ella, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
