Becky R. McDuffee, age 82, a resident of Wheaton since 1949, died at home on Monday, July 31. She was born on October 24, 1923 to Earnest and Rosalie Ray on a farm in Spencer County, Indiana.
Becky worked for Solano and Burns Law Firm as a legal secretary and for the DuPage County State's Attorneys office. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and history and was a volunteer for many charities and the PTA.
She is survived by four children; Janice McDuffee of San Fransico, CA, Jeffrey McDuffee of Chicago, Makaila Li of St. Louis, MO, and Jennifer Sonnemaker of Wheaton, six grandchildren; Chase and Drew McDuffee, Sgt. John Robert Gantzer, Elisha Connell, and David and Christina Sonnemaker, and 2 great-granchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Sally Pettit and sister-in-law Naomi Hampton, brother-in-law, Kenneth McDuffee as well as nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. McDuffee in 1998, her parents and 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 3, from 4 until 8 P.M. at the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton, where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Ron Markese officiating. Interment will follow at the Wheaton Cemetery.
