Beatrice K. Stecca, age 101, a resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream, passed away on Thursday, October 25, She was born May 28, 1917 on a farm four miles west of Roseville, Ohio.
Mrs. Stecca was a member of Wheaton Bible Church from 1960 until 1970 and again from 1987 until the time of her death. She earned her AB and MA Degrees from Ohio University and taught Home Economics at Wheaton College until the department was discontinued in 1963. After earning another MA degree in French and doing half the work toward a PhD in French Literature from the University of Chicago, she taught French at Trinity Christian College and at College of DuPage. She discontinued her career when her husband was transferred first to Great Lakes, IL and then to Mechanicsburg, PA. Mrs. Stecca was an avid student of the Bible having memorized much of it and having taken many courses in Bible from Washington Bible Institute and by correspondence from Moody Bible Institute. During the years from 1970 until 1985, she was active in teaching adult Sunday School and Bible study courses at the Christian Bible Institute located in Christ Community Church in Camp Hill, PA.
She is survived by three children: Kathy Wescher of York, PA, Beatrice Rumberger of Peoria, IL and David Stecca of Winfield, IL, six surviving grandchildren and one who is deceased and nineteen great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 2, at noon at
Wheaton Bible Church
