Obituary

Beatrice K. Killip, age 90, a resident of Wheaton for more than 50 years, died Saturday, October 14, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. She was born August 7, 1916 in Rochester, NY to T. Herbert and Cora Killip. Beatrice's father was the chief of police in Rochester, NY.

Beatrice graduated from Moody Bible Institute in 1947. Before she came to Wheaton, she taught in Leslie County, in rural Kentucky. She then taught Kindergarten at Wheaton Christian Grammar School for 38 years. She was a charter member of Pleasant Hill Community Church. At a recent celebration of her 90th birthday, over a hundred former students and friends came to honor her for impacting their lives through her service to Christ.

She is survived by her sister, Edith, also of Wheaton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, T. Herbert and Cora Killip; and her older sister, Dorothea.

A visitation will be held on Monday, October 16, from 4-8 P.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 17, at 10:00 A.M. at Pleasant Hill Community Church, 26W401 Geneva Road, in Wheaton. Interment will follow at Wayne Township Cemetery in West Chicago.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be directed to Wheaton Christian Grammar School, 530 E. Harrison Ave., Wheaton, IL 60187.
