A memorial service for Barbara A. Fisher (nee LeBeau), 70, will be held Saturday, April 19th at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton. The time of service is pending.
Born on Valentine's Day in Chicago, Illinois to her parents Loretta and Leo LeBeau, she died Wednesday, March 26 in her home in Wheaton.
Mrs. Fisher had resided in Wheaton most of her life. She grew up in Chicago and moved to Wheaton in her elementary years. She graduated from Wheaton Community High School in 1955, where most people knew her as Barbara Dugan. She went on to complete her bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University. After graduating from college, Mrs. Fisher went on to become a math teacher. Most of her teaching career was for Community Unit School District #200 in Wheaton. She taught eighth grade math and algebra. She retired from teaching in 1994. During retirement, Barbara and her husband Bob spent the winters in Scottsdale, Arizona. While in Arizona, she enjoyed golfing, reading, completing crossword puzzles, sitting by the pool, and watching the Cubs spring training games. In the summers, Barbara and Bob spent many long weekends at the family cottage in Watervliet, Michigan. Barb was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching football, baseball, basketball, and golf. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Bob; son, Christopher (Sandi) Fisher; daughter, Elizabeth Fisher; granddaughters, Maggie Keifer, Elizabeth (Mark) Oliverio, Samantha Keifer; sisters, Mary (Paul) Thompson, Nancy Conn; and brother, Dan Dugan.
Her mother, Loretta Dugan; her father, Leo LeBeau; and her stepfather Clarence Dugan preceded her in death.
