Barbara Curry, age 67, a resident of Glen Ellyn, IL, passed away on June 17th, 2017 due to a sudden and unexpected aortic dissection which incurred during work that same day. She died while being prepped for surgery at Edward Hospital in Naperville, Illinois. She was born on May 9th, 1950.
Barbara was a vibrant member of the community and an active member of Parkview Community church. As part of the Manna Ministry she helped and encouraged others in tough situations while fighting homelessness herself after being laid off. She flew with her church to Central America to help people provide clean water by drilling wells in those areas with a severe need.
She was passionate about health and wellbeing. Despite much adversity she studied to become a massage therapist and then eventually graduated and passed the state licensing tests. She began working as a massage therapist at Happy Feet & Spa and proceeded to spread the message of health and happiness to her clients and coworkers.
A memorial service will be held on July 1st, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Parkview Community Church 764 St. Charles Rd. Glen Ellyn, IL 60137.
