Aurora Castillejos, age 70, a resident of Sugar Grove, formerly of Wheaton, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva, Illinois. She was born July 19, 1948 in Manila, Philippines.

"Olla" graduated from Chinese General Hospital Nursing School and earned a Bachelor's degree in Nursing at Centro Escolar University in Manila. She married Paul Castillejos on February 14, 1972. She migrated to the United States in 1974 where she worked as a nurse in Chicago. They raised their family in Wheaton while she worked at Good Samaritan Hospital. For the last fifteen years she has worked at Delnor Hospital in Geneva where she recently retired.

She was legendary for opening her house and her heart to friends and family.  Her taste, like her personality, was sparkly and beautiful and she was dedicated to making her world more wonderful in every way. In her spare time, Olla was an ardent gardener with a passion for making spectacular flower arrangements and home decor.  She brought a brilliance to everything she touched.

Above all other things, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and sharing with them her love of family, beauty, and having fun.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Castillejos, two children, Pete (Susan) Castillejos of Hawaii and Cheryl (Dan) Pollard of Naperville, four grandchildren, Melia, Maile, Brianne and Nolan, one brother, Antonio and one sister, Connie.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Victoria.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 2 to 5 P.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, where a memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m.
