August P. "Augie" Tiritilli, age 84, a resident of Naperville, IL, and formerly a longtime resident of Wheaton, IL and Glenview, IL, died Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Wynscape Nursing Center in Wheaton, IL. He was born August 26, 1926 in Chicago, IL.
Augie served in the Army Air Force during World War II. After the war he attended U of I and received a degree in engineering. He owned his own structural engineering business for 30 years. He was a member of the Wheaton Senior Tennis, Biking, Bowling and Golf Groups. He was a huge Chicago sports fan.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Irma; his two children, Linda (Brad) Swearingen of Wheaton, IL, and Michael Tiritilli of Wheeling, IL; two grandchildren, Ryan and Sean Swearingen; his brother, Andy (Pat) Tiritilli; and his sister, Violet Fiore.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of a Veteran Flag Presentation to be held at 4:45 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187. Interment will be private.
