Arthur James Weiher
Arthur James Weiher, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and a proud Air Force veteran, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025, at the age of 88 in Barrington, IL.
Born in Elgin, IL, on October 10, 1936, Arthur was the son of Hugo August Weiher and Ruth-Helen Weiher (Sommers). He attended Barrington High School.
Arthur served his country honorably in the United States Air Force from May 16, 1955, to February 12, 1959. He was a skilled screw machine operator, a trade he passed on to his son, Russell. He enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including bowling, playing Yahtzee, puzzles, card games, and watching game shows. He also enjoyed tinkering and fixing things around the house. He cherished spending time with his family and had a passion for Portillos-style food, sausage and mushroom pizza, and breakfast at Mapleberry Pancake House.
Arthur was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret Mary Weiher (Tryba), on November 23, 2015, and sister Alice Lorraine Aumiller (Weiher) December 19, 2024, and his step-daughter, Laura Dawn Meglin-Stegall, in July 19, 2007. He is survived by his children: James Arthur Weiher (Sharon), Russell Todd Weiher (Amy Zuehlke), Heather LuAnne Hara (Brent), and Andrew Nicholas Weiher (Andrea), his step-daughter, Mary Patricia Meglin-Staples (Frank) with their mother, Lucille Anne Carter; his grandchildren: Justin Edwin Major, Jeffrey Arthur Weiher, Tyler Kenneth Weiher, Liliana Ayumi Hara, Gabriela Sayuri Hara, Adalynn Kimiko Hara, Emelina Grace Weiher, and Eleanor Leda Weiher; eight great-grandchildren; and his siblings: Beth Helen Muller (Weiher), and Kenneth Charles Weiher.
Arthur was known for his stubbornness, firmness, sense of humor, and charm. He loved spending time with his family.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 9:30 AM at St. Isidore Parish, Bloomingdale, IL.

Arthur James Weiher will be deeply missed by his family and friends. His memory will live on in our hearts forever.
