Arnie L. Roosa, age 93, a resident of Bloomingdale, IL, died Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at Lexington Health Care Center in Bloomingdale, IL. He was born September 27, 1923 in Royal Oak Township, Michigan.
On April 28, 1945 Arnold married Ruth Kjemhus in Chicago. They built their home in West Chicago in 1953 and raised three daughters. He was active in various churches including
Wheaton Evangelical Free Church
and
Faith Community Church
in West Chicago.
Arnold's loves were Jesus, his wife and children and then airplanes. He was involved in Cross and Cockade and Air Classics Museum. He also loved astronomy, making his own telescope. He had a passion for NASA and had an extensive patch collection. He was loved and adored by all he met.
He is survived by his daughters, Judith VanZanten of West Chicago, Patricia (Kim) Wall of Montgomery, and Deborah (Steven) Ferguson of West Chicago; seven grandchildren, Msgt. Bryan VanZanten, Michael (Jennie) Wall, Steven (Linnea) Ferguson II, Daniel (Christie) Ferguson, Timothy Wall, Melissa (Param) Ferguson-Thadani, and Sarah (Michael) Clark, five great-grandchildren, Steven Ferguson III, Jacob Wall, Nathan Ferguson, Shaun Wall, and Lillian Clark.
Arnie was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; his parents, his sister, and a son-in-law.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2017 from from 9:00 a.m. until the start of a funeral service to be held at 11:00 a.m. at
Faith Community Church
, 910 Main St., in West Chicago, IL. Interment will be private at
Chapel Hill Gardens West
in Oakbrook Terrace, IL.
