Our dear mother Armandina Garcia went to her eternal home in heaven on September 19, 2023, at the age of 92.  Armandina grew up in Chicago with her 4 sisters and 2 brothers.  Armandina was married to her husband and love of her life for 64 years. Frank knew the moment he met Armandina that he would marry her and he let her know that too. Armandina & Frank had 6 children, 4 boys and 2 girls. In the 70's they moved their family to Forest Park, then moved to Naperville in early 1994, where they would live closer to their family. She and our father were the caretakers of 6 of their grandchildren and 2 of their great grandchildren, then Armandina asked to take care of her great great grandchildren, although by that time they were watching her, they also watched neighborhood children. To say she loved children is an understatement. A deacon asked us what words come to mind to describe Armandina.  We all said, joyful selfless. Armandina taught us  how to try to live with joy & unfailing faith that God will take care of everything. As childen we woke up with the voice of her singing.  She loved playing games with her children and grandchildren, of course, all the while songs would be heard from her. She loved teaching all how to love on others.  She has been a true inspiration that we aspire to become.

She worked at Loyola University for 25 years in the orthopedics department for 14 doctors. She also made an impact there as a translator for those in need of medical help.

Armandina will join in heaven her loving husband, Frank Garcia, her eldest son, John, her 2 brothers, Peter & Julius and 3 sisters. Caroline, Lenore, and Helen.  Armandina is survived by her older sister, Olga, and her 3 sons and 2 daughters, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 IL Route 59, Plainfield, IL 60544, Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 10:30 a.m.
