Armand R. Haeger, age 80, a resident of Naperville, IL, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 24, 2020. He was born October 21, 1939 in Chicago to Armand and Caroline Haeger.

Armand was raised in Elmhurst and graduated from York High School in 1958 and Wheaton College in 1962. He worked as a teacher in Chicago and as a professor to high school and college students. He went on to earn three Master's Degrees in English Literature, New Testament and Education. He retired in 1998.

His Christian faith was central to his life. He enjoyed running on the Prairie Path or the Wheaton College track and he loved Chicago Cubs baseball and watching the Bears. He was an avid reader and loved reading in the park or on the beach.

He is survived by his daughters, Janet Lyn (Michael Breeser) Pape of Wheaton,  and Rebecca Rae (Robert) Hirst of DeKalb, IL, grandchildren, Brittany Pape, Breanna (Nico) Galto, Jenna Pape, Charlie, and Hannah Hirst and three great-grandchildren, Noah Martinez, Annika and Willow Galto.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Linda Schoenbeck.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, where a funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Private interment will be held at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
