Anton Joseph Rubenacker, age 17, a resident of Wheaton, IL, died Sunday, August 14, 2016, at Advocate Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn. He was born July 12, 1999 in Aurora, IL to Tom and Mary Rose Rubenacker.
Anton was starting his junior year as a student at Wheaton Warrenville South High School in Wheaton, Il. Anton loved being a Tiger. He awoke each day eager to go to school under Greta DeAno's watchful assistance and learning with both his special needs and main-stream classmates. Anton made friends with everyone from all walks of life. He loved unconditionally, was patient and had wicked humor.
Anton loved listening to music, reading books, playing ball and watching his favorite shows. He also enjoyed going on trips, and enjoyed boat rides of all kinds. He was well travelled and spent vacations in Honolulu, San Francisco, New York City and Washington DC to name a few. Above all, he loved having his entire family with him.
He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Mary Rose Rubenacker of Wheaton, IL; his siblings, Hope and Bennett; his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Mary Rose Torres of Lansing, IL; his paternal grandparents, George and Erma Rubenacker of Decatur, IL; and many extended family members.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 19, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL, where prayers will be said on Saturday at 9:45 a.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 20, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Winfield, IL.
