Anthony J. Scavo's Obituary
Anthony J. Scavo, age 70, a resident of Gahanna, OH and formerly of West Chicago, IL, died Sunday, April 1st in Gahanna. He was born September 18, 1941 in Chicago, IL.
Tony worked as a civil engineer at Abbott Labs for 25 years. He was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, a member of the Special Olympics and a Cum Christo member.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary, nee Berg; three children, Angela (Randy) Bohanan of Columbus, OH, Joseph (Dora) Scavo of Bolingbrook, IL and Matthew Scavo of Gahanna, OH; five honorary sons, John Graham, Jeff Donato, Mark Ballerastos, Greg Price, and Tareq Matalqa; his two grandchildren, Attilia and Marcello Scavo; his sister, Mary Margaret (PatrickP Smith of Homossa, FL; and his sister-in-law, Diana Scavo of Boston, MA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vito and Sarah Scavo; and by his brother, Vito Scavo.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL. A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, 310 S. Wheaton, Ave., Wheaton, IL 60187. Interment is private.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be directed to the Special Olympics of Ohio, 3303 Winchester Pike, Columbus, OH 43232.
