Anthony Malone, age 70, a resident of Wheaton, died Friday, October 12, 2007, following a heroic 2 ½ year battle with lung cancer, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. He was born March 29, 1937 in West Chester, PA.
Anthony retired from his management position at United Parcel Service in 1995, after 35 years of service. In retirement he and Debi enjoyed boating, fishing, antiques, computers, vacations and wintering in Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Deborah nee Hurlbut; their children, Jason (Sandra), Philip, and Rebecca; and his children, Annette, Anthony and Linda; many grandchildren; four sisters, Palma "Dolly" Kinka, Angelina (William) Roelle, Josephine (Robert) Larke, and Virginia (Eugene) Boydston; two sisters-in-law, Julia "Chickie" and Joyce Malone; five brothers-in-law, Robert Jr. (Julie), Ronald (Mary Ann), Randall (Katherine), Dr. Russell (Karen), and The Rev. Roger (Carole) Hurlbut; his uncle John Bonicontro; his aunt Mary Wild; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Vincenza (nee Bonicontro) Malone; his brothers, Emilio and Michael Malone; and his parents-in-law, Robert and Shirley (nee Cella-Kummers) Hurlbut, Sr; and his brother-in-law, Richard Philip Hurlbut.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 16, from 4-9 P.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, at 1:00 P.M. at Gary United Methodist Church, 224 N. Main St., in Wheaton, The Rev. Roger Hurlbut officiating. Interment will be private.
