Anthony J. Ilardo (Tony), age 89, a resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream and formerly of Elmhurst, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 24, 2010. He was born October 19, 1921 in Buffalo, NY.
Tony is survived by his wife Theresa, son James, daughter Joan, and granddaughters Antonia and Amelia as well as cousins, nieces and nephews.
He worked for Uarco until he retired in 1985. He served in the US Navy Construction Battalion (SeaBees) in the South Pacific during World War II.
Tony had been an active member of the VFW Post in Elmhurst, playing taps at the funerals of many veterans. He had been the Illinois State President of the Gideons, International, President of the Greater Chicago Sunday School Association and held many leadership positions at Melrose Park Bible Church and then at First Baptist Church of Elmhurst.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 28, from 4-8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 29, at 10:30 AM Windsor Park Manor, 124 Windsor Park Drive, Carol Stream, IL.
