Anthony Hugh Goodman, age 71, a longtime resident of Warrenville, IL and recent resident of Cape Coral, FL, died March 8, 2023 at Healthpark Medical Center in Fort Myers, FL.

Tony was born in Griffin, GA on May 5, 1951. He graduated from Forest Park High School in 1969. Shortly thereafter he went to work for TubeSales, and in 1977 he was transferred to Carol Stream, IL to open up a new branch as the superintendent of the warehouse department. There he met Stacy (Stacia) Bollweg, soon to become his wife in 1984.

They packed up that year, with Tony's son Christopher and Stacy's daughter Jennifer, to Jonesboro, GA, to open their own logistics franchise, Champion Transportation. They enjoyed their bowling leagues, riding their Harleys with the Christian Motorcycle Association, and became one of the first members of the Eagles Landing Country Club.

In 1992 they moved to Wheaton, IL and started a new life together, and became members of Grace Church of DuPage. Tony served in many areas, but exercised his love for food and gift of hospitality as he served on the fellowship committee.

Tony enjoyed coaching his son's baseball and football teams. He was an avid golfer, and loved his time working as a starter marshal and helping with the caddy training program at Cantigny Golf.

Tony had a unique ability for connecting with anyone. He was admired and loved by many.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Stacia Goodman, his mother Frances Goodman, his sister Pam and brother Greg, and his children, Christopher (Kirsten) Goodman, Jennifer MacGaffey, Jeffrey (Ellyn) Goodman, and Jennie (Mike) Mueller.

He's also survived by his grandchildren: Kamryn (22), Reagan (21), Tyler (18), Jordan (17), Kylie (15), Joey (15), Riley (13), Jadyn (13), Jacob (13), Jenson (10), Jaxon (6), Emmett (4), Rhoda Shay (3), Elsie (1), Julian (1 month).

He was preceded in death by his father Eddie Hugh Goodman and his brother Daniel Goodman.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, 9:00 am at Grace Church of DuPage, and a memorial service immediately following at 11:00 am. The service will also be livestreamed at 11:00 am CST through this link:
