Obituary

Anthony Doran, age 69, a resident of Winfield, died at home on Sunday, June 18. He was born on March 26, 1937 in Newcastle-upon-tyne, England to William and Violet Doran.

Tony served in the Royal Candian Air Force as a pilot from 1961 until 1966, when he joined American Airlines. He worked as a pilot for American until retiring in 1997 and was a member of the Gray Eagles and Silver Stripes. He enjoyed recreational flying and was a member of the Midwest Navioneers and the National Navion Society. In retirement, his love for travel lead him to all seven Continents.

He was a member of Glen Ellyn Bible Church.

He is survived by his wife Lynda, one son, Michael of California, two daughters, Kathryn (Al) Lupenski of Virginia, and Sandra (Steven) Rogelberg of North Carolina, two grandchildren, Sasha and Gordon Rogelberg, one brother, Peter (Beverly) Doran, and three sisters, Anne (Frank) Graham, Patricia (John) Butler and Susan (Dick) Wagland all of Ontario, Canada.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Margaret.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 21, from 4:30 to 9 p.m. at the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Ellyn Bible Church, 501 Main St. in Glen Ellyn. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until the time of service.

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or CNS Hospice of Du Page, 690 E. North Ave., Carol Stream, IL 60188.
