Annette Marie Johnson, age 80, a resident of Warrenville, IL, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Edward Hospital in Naperville, Illinois. She was born February 17, 1942 in Alden, Alabama to Raymond C. and C. Gladys Smith.

Annette grew up in Alden. In 1960, she moved to Warrenville and married David E. Redgate. She raised two daughters, Rhonda and Davette in Warrenville where she was an active member of Warrenville Bible Chapel. After David's death in 1991, she married Richard Johnson in 1998. They are members of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

She enjoyed travel and loved to be walking outside. She loved her family and enjoyed entertaining. She enjoyed cake decorating and giving cakes to friends.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Johnson, two daughters, Rhonda (Rick) Redgate-Offhaus, and Davette (John) Burk, six step-children, Ann Margaret (Jay) Blomgren, Elizabeth (Dan) Rudes, Richard Jr. (Elma) Johnson, Hila (Eliu) Johnson, Joseph (Andrea) Johnson, and William (Carolyn) Johnson, 24 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David E. Redgate, two brothers, Ray and Phillip and her parents.

A visitation will be held Friday, January 20, 2023 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held January 21, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3S465 Briggs St Naperville, IL 60563. Interment will follow at Warrenville Cemetery in Warrenville, Illinois.
