Obituary

Annette Sue Bissantz, age 59, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at her home in Carol Stream, Illinois. She was born September 13, 1958 in Columbus, Ohio.

Annie will be deeply missed by her partner of 29 years Albert Such; sister and brother-in-law Linda and James Lutz and nephews Jonathan and Justin Lutz; Albert's sisters Halina (David) Knapp, Hatty (James) Wirth, Mary (Ron Hazuga) Thrasher and neices and nephews. She is also survived by her mother, Alice Bissantz and brother Dirk Bissantz; brother-in-law Paul Street and nephew Samuel Pritchard. She was preceded in death by her sister, Janet Street and father, Charles Bissantz.

A dedicated and accomplished software engineer, Annie was most currently employed with Nokia. She earned a B.A. German/Linguistics from Barnard College-Columbia University, and both a M.A. Linguistics and M.S. Computer Science from The Ohio State University.

Annie enjoyed travel and planned many trips for her and Albert. She liked to cook, garden, knit and challenge herself with crosswords and other brainteaser puzzles and games. Most of all, Annie loved to read.

A quiet philanthropist, Annie supported numerous causes dedicated to helping others and placed special emphasis on women's issues.

Annie will be remembered for her keen intellect, kind soul, quick wit, unflinching tenacity, and insatiable love of reading.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until the start of a memorial service to be held at 2:30 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to the American Cancer Society , 1801 S. Meyers Rd., Ste. #100, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181.
