IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Annette Jurine
Adams
March 21, 1936 – November 5, 2024
Annette Jurine Adams, age 88, a longtime resident of Streamwood, IL, passed peacefully on November 5, 2024, at Northwestern Medicine McHenry. Born on March 21, 1936, Annette was born in Zeeland, Michigan. She was raised in Illinois going to Wheaton Christian Grammer school and High School graduating in 1954. She then went to Pine rest school of nursing in Grand Rapids Michigan. After her graduation she went to summer school to take some classes at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. There she met the love of her life, Darwin Adams. They were married on July 6, 1957, embarking on a lifelong journey of faith, love, and service.
Annette's faith was central to her life, and she was a devoted member of Village Church of Barrington. In 1967, she started the church's Pioneer Girls program, serving as a cherished leader and mentor. Together, she and Darwin sang in the choir, served on the Board of Directors, and taught adult Sunday School. Annette's servant heart shone through in countless ways: she was instrumental in planning the annual Harvest Home Dinner, Easter Service Breakfast, and Couples Dinners, and often opened her home for fellowship gatherings. A natural people-person, she welcomed newcomers with warmth, often serving coffee and dessert to help them feel at home.
Annette was asked to lead the Women's Ministry, serving as the chairperson of the Women's Committee. She organized events that created meaningful connections for women in the church and their friends, offering a place to grow in faith together. Her involvement extended to the church's drama program and her role as Wedding Coordinator, roles she cherished as they allowed her to contribute to the lives of others.
In addition to her church work, Annette was active in the Christian Woman's Club throughout the 1970s and '80s, sharing her compassion and love for people far and wide.
Annette is survived by her beloved daughters, Cynthia (Philip) Fisk and Charity (Randy) McCafferty; her grandchildren, Ashley (David) Feister, Zachary (Aubrey) Fisk, Jonathan (Fabia) Fisk, Caileigh McCafferty. Step grand-children: April Vasilatos Little, David (Jenna) McCafferty, Jill McCafferty Gradomski, and William (Grace) McCafferty; and her treasured 10 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her siblings, Jurine Wickersham & Marge Meland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin, her steadfast partner in faith and service.
A celebration of Annette's life and faith will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Village Church of Barrington, 1600 E. Main Street, Barrington, IL 60010.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Advocacy Center of North and Northwest Cook County , 640 Illinois Boulevard, Hoffman Estates, IL 60169.
Annette's legacy of faith, service, and love will continue to inspire all who knew her.
