Anna Rose Izzo, age 78, a resident of Chicago, IL and Berwyn, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at Hinsdale Hospital in Hinsdale, IL. She was born December 17, 1937 in Chicago, IL.
With a doctorate in education, Anna Rose specialized in early childhood education. She dedicated her life to the children she taught, was a long time teacher in the Chicago public schools and even mentored local preschools in her retirement. Her passions included traveling, gardening, connecting with friends and her dogs.
Anna Rose is survived by her sisters, MaryAnn (the late Richard) Casavechia, and JoAnn (the late Ted) Stasior; her brother, Nick (Darlene) Izzo; many nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Salvatore and Josephine Izzo.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at
Santa Maria Addolorata
, 528 N. Ada St., in Chicago, IL. A funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 p.m., also at the church.
