A memorial service for Ann C. Stephens, age 102, will be held on Sunday, December 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Windsor Park, Carol Stream, IL, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Born on July 9th, 1912, in St. Paul, Minnesota, she died on Sunday, November 30th, 2014, in Carol Stream. A resident of Wheaton for 38 years, she had been living at Windsor Park in Carol Stream since 1989. Mrs. Stephens attended Carleton College and New York Theological Seminary. Prior to her marriage, she was Secretary for Young Peoples Work for the USA Presbyterian Board of National Missions headquartered in New York City. Later, for a year, she joined the staff of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship as East Coast representative.
In 1943, she married Harold K. Stephens, who was directing the stewardship department of Moody Bible Institute, and moved to Wheaton. They were active members of Wheaton Bible Church where she taught Sunday School for over 30 years and served as a deaconess.
Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Harold and two sisters, Priscilla Compton and Helen Snow, both of Phoenix, AZ. Survivors include two daughters, Jean (Victor) Ullrich of Chanhassen, MN and Kathryn (Randy) Chapek of Carol Stream, and two grandsons, Rob and Brian Wilcox.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Windsor Park Benevolent Fund or Wheaton Bible Church Missions Fund, 27W500 North Ave., West Chicago, IL 60185.
A private interment will be held at Wheaton Cemetery.
