Alice Hartranft Pipher, age 83 years young went to be with the Lord on January 14, 2019.  She was born to Charles and Lola Burgess.  She married James Hartranft and they raised seven children in Glen Ellyn Illinois.  Alice was all about her family and she was the best mother and wife she could be,  providing encouragement and support to all she loved.   She put others before herself.  She was a longtime resident of Glen Ellyn.  She attended and was active at Grace Lutheran Church.  After Jim's retirement they became snow birds spending several winters in Holiday, Florida.   Her surviving children are Jim (Paula) Hartranft, Pam (Scott) McCorkle, Diana ( Jim) Lewis, Dan Hartranft, and Christine Thompson.  She was also blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was met in Heaven by husband Jim, parents Chuck and Lola, brother Wayne, daughters Pat Butler, and Ginny(Rudy) Hallmer, and Granddaughter Amy Lewis.  She will be missed every day until we see her again.

The second chapter of Alice's life was blessed by a wonderful extended family.  She was lucky in love and met and married Ken Pipher of Guelph Ontario.  They celebrated their twentieth wedding anniversary shortly before her death and Ken was with mom until her last breath.  Ken's family became Alice's family.  She is survived by Lynne(James) Myers, Grant(Jenny) Pipher, and Jeffery(Donna) Pipher and their families.  Her life was well lived and everyone she touched came away feeling her joy and happiness with life.  She repeatedly told people, "I have led a good life and I am ready to go to Heaven."  Until we meet again momma we will miss you and smile every time we think of you.
