Alice M. Higgins, age 94, a resident of Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream, died Friday, August 1, at Johnson Healthcare Center. She was born in Chicago on July 20, 1914 to Fredrick and Alice Davey.

She grew up in Chicago and married Francis "Happy" Higgins on June 27, 1936 in Chicago. At a young age Alice suffered a stroke and was paralyzed on her right side. She courageously battled this disability and raised their two children and was a great inspiration to many people.

Alice is survived by her husband of 72 years "Happy", her children James (Becky) Higgins, and Mildred (the late Warren) Parrent, her grandchildren Tammy (Glenn) Sogge, and Samantha (Jim) Kosik, four great-grandchildren, Stewart, and Kristin Sogge, Derek Eageny and Randi Kosik.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Clifford Davey.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 4, from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton with the funeral service at 10:30 AM. . Interment will follow at Forest Home Cemetery in Forest Park, IL.
