May 20, 1934 – August 28, 2021
Alice Mary Berg, age 87, a resident of Bloomingdale, passed away, peacefully at home on Saturday, August 28, 2021. She was born May 20, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to Felix and Helen Winiarski.
Alice had a strong faith in God. Her dream was to be a nurse and earned her LPN in 1980. She was unable to work in her field because of Rheumatoid Arthritis. She stayed active in her church with visitation, teaching women's Bible study, working as church secretary, led Pioneer Girls, and became her church's Mission Committee chairman, all while raising 6 kids and caring for her aging father.
Despite declining health, Alice was a prayer warrior and faithfully sent encouraging notes and cards to family and friends as well as missionaries around the world.
Alice is survived by her husband, Richard P Berg, her children, Leo Dorsch, (wife Michell), Leslie Fetter (husband Chuck), Michael Dorsh (wife, Lynda), Leslie Vernick (husband Howard), Patt Long (husband Kent), Rich Berg (wife Carrie), her grandchildren, Ryan Vernick, Amanda Lester, Justin Dorsch and Megan Henderson, Phil Roland, Chris, Tony and Becky Fetter, Kiley Lee, Gabrielle Cressman, Taylor Henderson, Jordan Long, Matthew, Aubrey, and Kaitlin Dorsch, Clayton Berg and Kristen Hallberg, and her great-grandchildren, Lyte, Stetsen and Ryker Dorsch, Nina Henderson, Jacob Roland, Amaya, Leilani and Natalia Lester, Anna and Nathaniel Lee, Joy and Levi Cressman, Luke, Wyatt, and Nora Henderson, Ava and Ila Dorsch, Logan Schulth, Henry and Ellie Berg, Elizabeth and Winifred Hallberg.
Survived by nieces and nephews, Suzie Hetman, Carla Crow, Paul and George Winiarski.
Nicki Sipolt (nephew), Lorraine Pollay (sister) and George Winiarski (Brother) preceded her in death.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Jubilee Bible Church, at Jubilee Bible Church, 900 Foster Avenue, Medinah, IL, 60157, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 p.m. Private interment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
