Alaric R. Bailey III, 48, recently of Warrenville, IL, died by his own hand at Fox Valley Park, Aurora, IL, on Monday, July 13. He was born on January 11, 1967 in Pittsburgh, PA. In 1982 he moved with his family to Wheaton, IL where he attended Glenbard West High School. Subsequently he lived most of his adult life in Moline, IL.
"Trey," a truck driver by trade, made it his life's work to help those in need. He would listen to anyone's story and had a kind word for everyone he met. He also had a delightful sense of humor and a unique perspective of the world. He attended AA regularly and despite his struggle with mental illness, he remained sober for 27 years.
He is greatly missed by his surviving family, his wife, Joyce (Haury) Bailey; his parents, Mary (Pitts) and Alaric Bailey, Jr.; a brother, Justin (Carolyn) Bailey; two sisters, Allison (Randall) Jorgensen and Karen Bailey; two nephews, Samuel and Landon; and a niece, Julia.
An informal memorial service will held Sunday, July 19, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at the
Pleasant Hill Community Church
, located at 26W401 Geneva Road in Wheaton, IL. Interment is private.
