Alan Wayne Berg, age 45, a resident of Glendale Heights, died suddenly on Thursday, January 25, at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago. He was born on August 15, 1961 in Woodstock to Ronald and Nancy Berg.
Alan was a graduate of Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, where he has worked as a building maintenance engineer for over 10 years.
His life was a reflection of his love for Christ, his family and friends. He was an active member of Wheaton Bible Church, where he worked in service ministries, as a Divorce Care leader and as a Stephen Minister. Formerly he participated in service ministries at Willow Creek Community Church.
Alan is survived by his wife, Ruth, three daughters, Michelle, Melissa and Michaela, two step-children, Audrey and James Brunke, his parents, Ronald and Nancy Berg of Wonder Lake, one brother, James (Lisa) Berg of Woodstock, three sisters, Cindy Berg of Ingleside, twin sister, Sue (Steve) Weisenfelder of Elgin, and Pam (Dan) Sorensen of Greenwood, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 28, from 2 until 5 p.m. at the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at Wheaton Bible Church, (across the street from the funeral home) Main and Franklin St. in Wheaton.
Interment will be private.
