Al Sisler, age 66, a resident of Wheaton, IL, since 1972, died May 9, 2011, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois. He was born January 8, 1945.
He graduated from Wartburg College in 1968. On August 30, 1970 he married Dianne Stevens. Al worked for Sears for over 33 years and was currently working as an educational therapist with National Institute for Learning Development.
He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He loved to watch his grandkids play their sports. His faith in Christ defined his life and actions. Al was devoted to humbly serving his wife as Christ served the Church, they were simply inseparable.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne Sisler, three children, Steve (Anji) Sisler of Palatine, Wendy (Jeremy) Myers of Westtown, NY, and Mark (Liz) Sisler of Indian Head Park, nine grandchildren, Nathan, Cade, Ty Jacob, Talia, Taylor Grace, Selah, Kahlea, Jaden, and Josiah, his mother Bernice Eichner, and one sister, Carol (Aaron) Lenz of Cortland.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Sisler.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 12, from 4 to 7 pm at College Church in Wheaton, where a funeral service will be held Friday, May 13, at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
