Frank Richard, age 94, a resident of Arlington Heights, died Saturday, September 22, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. He was born December 21, 1912 in Chicago.
Frank grew up in Chicago. During World War II he served in the Air Force as a Colonel. He worked for the Robert L. Berner Corporation in Chicago at the Vegetable Packing House in Norridge. He was involved in purchasing produce and national distribution. Eventually this corporation expanded into the Shell/Nut business and provided these products throughout the nation. He was a member of Judson Baptist Church in Oak Park, and also Arlington Heights Evangelical Free Church.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elva; two children, Karen (Rodney) Rogers of Hawthorn Woods, IL, and Frank E. (Darcy) Richard of Wheaton; six grandchildren, Erik (Sara) Rogers, and Kirsten (Jason) Sendelbach, and Rebecca, Nathan, Christina, and Michelle Richard; and his brother, Ben (Shirley) Richard.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marla Richard; and four sisters, Nida Salemi, Susan Fitzgerald, Evelyn Sorem, and Louise Laurencell.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 25, from 5-8 P.M. at College Church in Wheaton, 332 E. Seminary Ave., where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens in Arlington Heights.
