James Arthur Schwark, age 68, died April 7, 2020, in Chicago, Illinois.  He was born September 8, 1951 to the late Merle and Grace Schwark. He will always be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, and a doting grandfather.

Jim grew up on a farm in Bonfield, Illinois. He loved playing basketball off the side of the barn, competing in softball leagues, and cheering on the Cubs with his father. He attended Illinois State University where graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. He moved to Chicago where he met Elizabeth, the love of his life. The two married in 1981. Jim and Beth built a house in Wheaton where they raised their three children. He lived life with unwavering devotion to his entire family. His selflessness in life and love was unmatched. Jim was proud to be his children's biggest fan. He could always be found in the stands cheering them on in all things life.

In his free time, Jim was passionate about spending time in the garden with Beth. He could often be found on the golf course with James, his son and playing partner. Jim loved sipping coffee over breakfast at Egg Harbor with his daughter Caitlin. He enjoyed trips to Virginia to see his daughter Meghan and could never refuse a game of basketball with his grandsons.

Jim is survived by his wife Beth; children Meghan (Marc), James (Sarah), and Caitlin; and grandchildren Brayden and Noah.

A private interment will take place at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois. Services and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when all who knew and loved Jim can gather together.
