Gail L. Cleave, age 69, a lifelong resident of Wheaton, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 4, 2021.  She was born July 15, 1952 in Elmhurst to Alfred S. and Sarah Irving Cleave.

Gail attended Wheaton Central High School and Western Kentucky University, and then worked for Dupage County for 30 years. She was an avid Cubs fan before it was cool and shared her love of baseball with her family, who is grateful for the ballpark memories. She will be fondly remembered for her love of animals, her willingness to attend her nieces' and nephew's youth sporting events, and her lighthearted sense of humor. She was also a devoted member of Trinity Episcopal Church, where she enjoyed a community of kind and supportive parishioners.

She is survived by her brother, James (Peggy Michet) Cleave; her nieces Heather, Melisse, Beth, Rachael, Rebekah, Sarah, and Elizabeth; her nephew Robert; and her 14 grand-nieces and -nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her aunts Virginia Haas and Betty Warren, her uncle Richard Irving, her older brother Bruce, and her brothers who passed away in infancy, John and Paul.

Visitation will be at 9:00 and services will be at 9:30 on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 130 N. West, Wheaton, Illinois. Interment will follow at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, Illinois.
