Obituary

Ethel Grace Frank, age 100, went home to be with her Lord on April 1, 2020. She will be remembered as a faithful wife, loving mother, aunt, grandmother, great- grandmother and dedicated servant of the Lord Jesus Christ.

She was born in Allentown, PA on September 27, 1919. She graduated from Allentown High School in 1937. She took correspondence courses from Moody Bible Institute. She worked as a stenographer until her marriage to Walter H. Frank on July 26, 1940.

Together they entered Christian ministry and pastored four churches, including their home church in Allentown, PA. In 1952, they moved to Germany with their four sons and served for one year with Youth for Christ International in the Netherlands and Germany. In 1960 their family, which now included a daughter, moved to Wheaton, IL, when Walter became the General Director of Greater Europe Mission.

As members of Wheaton Bible Church, Ethel was involved in visitation and personal evangelism ministries. In 1980, she and her husband relocated to California where they spent five years in Thousand Oaks and eleven years in Concord actively serving in their churches in those communities. In 1996, Ethel and Walter moved to the Covenant Village of Turlock, CA and were members of Crossroads Evangelical Free Church.

After her husband's death in 2010, Ethel moved back to Wheaton and lived at Covenant Living at Windsor Park/Johnson Health Care Center in Carol Stream. There she enjoyed reconnecting with family and many friends at Windsor Park and at Wheaton Bible Church.

Ethel was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Walter. She is survived by her five children: Doug (Marj) Frank (Seattle, WA/Medford, OR), David (Debbie) Frank (Girona, Spain), Dale (Debbie) Frank (Wheaton, IL), Don (Nancy) Frank (St. Joseph, MI), and Dawn (Tony) Webster (Spotsylvania, VA); nieces Diane Lindley (Wheaton, IL) and Lenore Sherrick (Stevensville, PA); 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren: Sara (Ryan) Adams of Medford, Oregon, children Katelyn and Jenna, Jeremy (Sylvia) Frank of Girona, Spain, children Shania and Wyatt, Tafie (Christian) Webb of Highpoint, NC, Tami Casuso of Highpoint, NC, children Alanna and Kiara, Nate Frank of Chicago, IL, Kara (Pedro) Arruza of Ashland, VA, children Owen, Ella and Will, Krista (Ryan) McAllister of Colorado Springs, CO, children Luke, Maddie, Griffin and Titus, Emily (Scott) Fedyski of Wheaton, IL, children Noah, Eliza, Evelyn and Clara, Ryan (Kim) Frank of St Joseph, MI, child Charlotte, Kyle (Laura) Frank of Greer, SC, children Everett, Mabry and Cora, Lindsey (Josh) Burnett of Roseville, CA, children Molly and Maverick, and Jeffrey Webster of Pasadena, CA.

Ethel loved and cared deeply about the people in her life, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She cherished her family and delighted in each and every visit. She made each grandchild and great-grandchild feel special and valued. Little people were drawn to her. Her faith was expressed daily in her words and actions. She will be remembered for her devotion to her Lord, her daily prayer life and her heart for telling others about Him. During her long full life, she demonstrated a consistently positive outlook, and was warm and encouraging to everyone around her. She loved well!

Ethel's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the care-giving teams at Johnson Health Care Center and Central DuPage Hospital. Their gentle care for Ethel and the kindness they demonstrated to her family were remarkable and greatly appreciated.

An online family celebration service was held for Ethel on April 5th.  She was laid to rest with her husband, Walter, in Turlock, CA at Turlock Memorial Park on April 7.
