Sarah Wolff

Sarah "Sadie" Wolff, age 96, a resident of Naperville, and formerly of Wheaton, died Friday, January 25, peacefully at home. She was born March 25, 1916 in Embo, Sutherlandshire, Scotland to James and Jessie Cumming.

She came to the United States when she was 10 years old and lived in Chicago where she met Norm Wolff. They were married on May 20, 1939. They moved to Wheaton in 1953. They were active members of Bethany Chapel and worked together for many years at Lake Geneva Youth Camp. She was the secretary to the headmaster at Wheaton Academy for several years before moving into the Wheaton Public School System. She retired in 1983 after working at both Washington and Weisbrook Elementary Schools.

Sadie enjoyed tending her rose garden of over 30 rose bushes, cheerfully providing beautiful bouquets to many. In retirement she returned for the first time to her hometown in Scotland to reconnect with friends and family.

She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Wolff of Naperville and Norene Swaney of Sister Bay, WI, two grandsons, Darren (Kimberly) and Chad Swaney and three great-grandchildren, Trevor, Marissa and Logan.

She was preceded in death by her husband Norm Wolff, her parents and eight siblings.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 30, from 9 until 11 am at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187, where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.

Memorial gifts may be directed to Lake Geneva Youth Camp and Conference Grounds, W2655 South St., Lake Geneva, WI 53147 or Repeat Boutique Center, 1825 College Ave, Wheaton, IL 60187.
