Sophie Kost, age 82, a resident of Colony Park in Carol Stream, went to be with her Lord Jesus on Tuesday, January 1 peacefully at home. She was born August 4, 1930 in Chicago to Joseph and Eva Kuta.

Sophie raised three children, and when called upon she help raise three of her grandchildren. For over 20 years, she worked at Central Du Page Hospital. In 2005 she moved to Colony Park where she continued to help others. She loved serving those in need, driving people to church and medical appointments and meeting needs in any way she could.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas (Deborah) Kost and Robert Kost, six grandchildren, Kyle (Jessica), Krystal, Alex, Bobby, and Hannah Kost, and Michael Fountain.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly E. Fountain and granddaughter Kayla Kost.

A funeral will be held on Saturday, January 5, at 3:30 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until the service time at 3:30.
