Ruby Benner, age 96, a resident of Lexington Square in Lombard and formerly of Chicago, died Friday, November 23, 2012, at Lexington Health Care Center. She was born April 6, 1916 in Chicago to Fred and Mary Hora.
Ruby served the Lord at the Northside Gospel Center. Her passion in life was helping others, especially those in need. She had a heart for Christian missions and missionaries around the world. She gave sacrificially to many Christian ministries. She retired from the Milwaukee Railroad after 30 years of service as a telephone operator.
She is the loving mother of Vern (Ruth) Benner of Brookfield, Lorelei (Vic) Franz of Winfield, and Charles (Gail) Benner of Huntley, and the late Harold Benner, mother-in-law of Nancy Trussell, proud grandmother of Randy Benner, Robert Benner, Greg Franz, Terry Benner, Gary Franz, Nancy Jaros, Renee Stuebner, Jeffrey Benner, Kevin Franz, Brian Benner, Keith Franz, Becky Neu and Julie Dotker, and the loving great-grandmother of 33.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 26, 2012 from 10 to 12 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, where a funeral service will follow at 12:00 P.M. Private interment will be held at Arlington Cemetery in Elmhurst, Illinois.
