Terrance A. Rieck

Terrance A. Rieck, age 64, a resident of Winfield, IL, and formerly of Northbrook, IL, died Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL after recently being diagnosed with cancer. He was born August 19, 1947 in Chicago, IL.

Terry was a proud graduate of the University of Notre Dame (BSME) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he earned a PhD in nuclear engineering. After 28 years working at the Exelon Corporation, he was able to enjoy his last 10 years in retirement. A duplicate bridge Life Master, Terry was also an avid golfer and enjoyed bird watching with Donna. He volunteered throughout the community in many activities. For 16 years he was a parishioner at St. John the Baptist in Winfield where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Terry's family meant everything to him. In particular, he loved spending time with his granddaughters and traveling with Donna and Robin.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; his children, Robin and Adam (Maureen); his granddaughters, Erin and Nora; his siblings, Thomas (Penelope) Rieck, Barbara (James) Binninger, Kathleen (Brian) Cardott, and Christine (Patrick) Durkin; many nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law, Charlotte Thoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Valerie Rieck and his father-in-law, Norbert Thoma.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012, from 4-8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, where a prayer service will be held on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. A funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 0S 233 Church St., in Winfield, IL. A private interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, in Wheaton, IL.
